Kate Kaye, Data Reporter, Advertising Age

Kate Kaye covers the data industry and how marketers use consumer data for Advertising Age. Before joining Ad Age in November 2012, Kate worked as a writer and reporter covering the digital marketing industry since 2000, focusing on beats including data-driven targeting, privacy, government regulation and digital political campaigns. Kate helped cultivate the online political campaign beat, and in 2009 wrote “Campaign ‘08 A Turning Point for Digital Media,” a book about the digital media efforts of the 2008 presidential campaigns. Before joining Ad Age, Kate was managing editor of ClickZ News, where she worked for nearly 7 years.

Vivian Chang, VP Product & Analytics, Tapad

Vivian Chang has been with Tapad since the inception of Tapad and has played an integral role in the development of the company’s core products and services.  She also oversees privacy for the company and built strict, industry-leading privacy protocols into Tapad’s product line.  Vivian joined Tapad after serving as a Product Manager for Massive Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft, and as a Business Analyst at McKinsey.  She has a B.S. in Mathematical & Computational Science from Stanford University.

Ashkan Soltani, Independent Researcher & Consultant

Ashkan Soltani is an independent researcher and consultant focused on privacy, security, and behavioral economics. His research examines the prevalence of online tracking and exposes practices designed to circumvent privacy choices online. He previously served as staff technologist in the Division of Privacy and Identity Protection at the Federal Trade Commission and also worked as the primary technical consultant on the Wall Street Journal’s “What They Know” investigative series on Internet privacy.
